Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Dispute Resolution Center of King County! Below are current opportunities to get involved. If any of these roles interest you, please reach out to Dawn for more information. Some roles may require additional training and approvals. Opportunities may be virtual, in-person, or a combination of both. 

 

Youth Development 

Training Facilitator:

    • Work directly with Youth Development Trainer to lead youth development training sessions. Responsibilities include delivering content, engaging participants, and supporting skill-building activities.

Training Session Coordinator:

    • Support the Youth Development Training facilitators by organizing logistics for each session, managing attendance, preparing supplies, and ensuring smooth execution of training activities.
       

Training Materials Creator:

    • Collaborate closely with Youth Development Program Manager to design and develop engaging training materials, including handouts, presentations, and interactive tools tailored to youth development goals

 

Mediation 

Mediators: Facilitate neutral and impartial conflict resolution in various service areas: 

      • Small Claims – small claims cases filed in King County District Court
      • Family – Support families in resolving interpersonal conflicts
      • Community – Help neighbors and community members navigate disagreements. 

Training Requirements: Completion of CoRE (or BMT) and approval from KCDRC within the designated service area. 

Community Ambassadors 

    • Represent the DRC at public events, informational tables, and advocate for the organization’s mission throughout the community.
