What are Restorative Practices?
Rebuilding Trust
Restorative practice is a response to harm that gathers all those affected by conflict to collectively decide how to repair the harm, reset relationships, restore trust and rebuild a sense of community.
Community Building Circles provide a forum that supports the strengthening of relationships and connection to issues and problems can be collaboratively worked out.
Restorative processes can be helpful to any group that have been impacted by harm, whether it is related to an actual incident or the occurrence of many unresolved disputes.
A restorative response can be facilitated to meet the needs of individuals and groups in many settings, such as workplaces, in faith communities, social clubs, not for profit organizations, schools, housing co-ops, families or government agencies.

“Through the simple, but transformative power of using the circle process, I felt my heart was cleansed. I shared opening and honestly with my fellow participants, and I felt closer to everyone by doing so. The circle felt like a safe and accepting place. I became more courageous and more vulnerable each time I shared.”
