- KCDRC has partnered with the King County District Court for more than 30 years to provide free mediation of small claims court cases.
- In the past year, 48% of small claims mediation resulted in resolutions.
Small claims court mediations work!
If you are a named party in a small claims case in King County, the court will schedule you for a pre-hearing conference. KCDRC works in partnership with the court to provide highly trained mediators for this court day will assist you in mediation with the other party in your care. This mediation service is provided at no cost to you and is currently conducted online.
If you resolve your case, our mediators will help you and the other party craft a written agreement which is enforceable in court if necessary. If your mediation is not resolved, you will proceed to trial as soon as the courts can schedule your case.
Even if you are not able to resolve your case in mediation, many people tell us they found the process helpful in getting a better understanding of the issues.
